About
The Valley Grind is a testament to resilience and community spirit in Greenville, California. Established in May 2022 by Rachael and Travis Goings, this vibrant coffee shop emerged from the ashes of the Dixie Fire, which had devastated their previous venture, Sierra Sunrise Coffee House, just a month before its intended opening. Undeterred, the Goings transformed a bright yellow trailer into a welcoming hub for locals and visitors alike, offering a range of coffee and espresso drinks, as well as breakfast and lunch options.
Rachael Goings, a Greenville native, emphasizes the importance of dedication in running a successful business, noting the challenges of maintaining consistency, especially during the harsh winter months. Despite these obstacles, The Valley Grind has become a daily stop for many, serving customers each day, including local residents and road crews working on State Route 70 .
Beyond serving quality beverages and meals, The Valley Grind plays a pivotal role in the community’s recovery and cohesion. Goings takes pride in providing a space where residents can reconnect, often hearing the sounds of laughter and conversation from the outdoor dining area. She believes that small businesses like hers are essential to Greenville’s rebuilding efforts, attracting both former and new residents by fostering a sense of community and belonging .
Located at 202 Crescent Street, The Valley Grind operates Tuesday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 2 PM and on Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM. For the latest updates on their offerings, patrons are encouraged to visit their Facebook page.
The Valley Grind stands as a beacon of hope and determination, embodying the spirit of Greenville’s resurgence and the unwavering commitment of its residents to rebuild and thrive.
